Scotchgard carpet protector is a protective treatment for clean carpet and rugs.
The simple version: Scotchgard helps protect carpet yarns by surrounding the fibers inside those yarns with an invisible barrier. That barrier helps protect against soil and spills, so dry soil is easier to remove during vacuuming and spills are easier to clean before they set.
That matters because carpet is not one flat surface. It is made of yarns, and those yarns are made of fibers. Soil, spills, body oils, pet residue, and old cleaning residue can cling to those yarns over time.
Scotchgard helps give the fibers inside the yarns a protective barrier before the next mess happens.
